Ad esempio, sugli autobus non c\u2019\u00e8 pi\u00f9 preoccupazione per gli zaini incustoditi, i presunti sacchi bomba preferiti dai terroristi.<br \/>\nViene utilizzato un simile livello di paura per il Covid che, oltre a chiedere alle persone di prestare attenzione a un serio problema di salute pubblica, sta creando un clima che riduce il controllo su altre questioni di interesse pubblico non meno importanti.<br \/>\nI governi occidentali sono liberali con grandi quantit\u00e0 di denaro senza discussioni serie sulla loro provenienza, su come e dove venga speso e sulle conseguenze di tale debito.<br \/>\nLa paura creata dal governo invita alla sicurezza creata dal governo stesso, spesso con severe misure di legge e ordine.<br \/>\nImmaginate se il premier del Victoria Daniel Andrews avesse proposto servizi sanitari migliori in risposta alla pandemia, invece di pesanti sanzioni per la disobbedienza agli ordini di sanit\u00e0 pubblica. Avrebbe risparmiato inutili angosce a se stesso e alle decine di migliaia di persone che hanno protestato negli ultimi cinque fine settimana.<br \/>\nA differenza di quanto successo con questa pandemia, con l\u2019Influenza Spagnola le autorit\u00e0 statunitensi fecero di tutto per non seminare il panico tra la gente.<br \/>\nLe economie occidentali stanno attraversando cambiamenti massicci e dirompenti, con la finanza e le societ\u00e0 che hanno libert\u00e0 ingiustificabili a spese della gente comune che deve far fronte a incertezze e insicurezze senza precedenti.<br \/>\nL\u2019autenticit\u00e0 della preoccupazione sulle conseguenze del Covid per l\u2019umanit\u00e0 si comprende meglio se accostata all\u2019inerzia sulla fame nel mondo.<br \/>\nSono 30 milioni le persone che muoiono di fame nel mondo, secondo il relatore speciale delle Nazioni Unite sul diritto al cibo, Hilal Elver.<br \/>\nAd oggi i decessi globali per Covid ammontano a poco pi\u00f9 di 5 milioni.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Fear in the wild West<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>by Frank Barbaro<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Most people are aware of the exhortation to be \u2018alert but not alarmed\u2019.<br \/>\nIt was catapulted to prominence by governments during the US led war on terrorism that permanently changed air travel.<br \/>\nThe fear driven alert did not linger in other aspects of life. For example there is no longer concern on buses about unattended backpacks, the presumed bomb-bag favourite of terrorists.<br \/>\nA similar heightened level of fear of Covid is being used which, along with asking people to be alert to a serious public health issue, is creating a climate that diminishes scrutiny of other no less important public interest issues.<br \/>\nWestern governments are being liberal with large amounts of money without serious discussions about where it comes from, how and where it is being spent and the consequences of such debt.<br \/>\nGovernment created fear invites government created safety, often with severe law and order measures.<br \/>\nImagine if Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews had proposed better health services in response to the pandemic instead of heavy penalties for disobeying public health orders.
