Potere elettrico al Popolo<\/h2>\n

Gli elevati, ingiusti e ingiustificati costi dell\u2019elettricit\u00e0 hanno fatto seguito alla rinuncia al controllo dell\u2019industria (e in particolare dei prezzi) da parte dei governi.<\/p>\n

Ogni riflessione che abbia un minimo di buon senso non potrebbe ignorare l\u2019impatto dell\u2019intrusione del settore privato nella produzione, consegna e vendita al dettaglio di energia elettrica.<\/p>\n

Le truffe sui prezzi dell\u2019elettricit\u00e0 sono evidenti e riconosciute, e vengono comunemente descritte con espressioni quali contraffazione dei prezzi e fallimento del mercato.<\/p>\n

Il rorting non \u00e8 considerato un furto solo perch\u00e9 viene promosso dagli organismi di regolamentazione di tutto il mondo.<\/p>\n

La propaganda \u00e8 stata tale, che l\u2019elettricit\u00e0 costosa viene presentata quasi come un fenomeno naturale sul quale comunit\u00e0 e governi non hanno alcun controllo.<\/p>\n

Tuttavia, invece di superare il problema, i governi, temendo il contraccolpo popolare, rispondono oggi con sussidi inadeguati e inefficienti.<\/p>\n

Mentre il governo federale laburista lotta per affrontare il rompicapo delle bollette elettriche elevate e la previsione self-service di un aumento del 56% nei prossimi due anni, gli Stati australiani hanno offerto alle famiglie sconti sull\u2019elettricit\u00e0 che in quest\u2019anno finanziario ammonteranno a pi\u00f9 di $ 1,4 miliardi.<\/p>\n

Questa risposta alquanto limitata ignora la causa degli alti prezzi dell\u2019elettricit\u00e0 e il denaro pubblico per aiutare i consumatori a pagare le bollette finir\u00e0 nelle tasche dei profittatori.<\/p>\n

Data l\u2019abbondanza di carbone e gas in Australia, l\u2019elettricit\u00e0 avrebbe dovuto essere pi\u00f9 economica in quanto prodotta da combustibili fossili e l\u2019elettricit\u00e0 da fonti energetiche sostenibili dovrebbe essere pi\u00f9 economica perch\u00e9 il sole e il vento sono gratuiti.<\/p>\n

L\u2019elettricit\u00e0 \u00e8 la linfa vitale delle comunit\u00e0 funzionanti e i governi, qualunque sia la loro ideologia, dovranno garantirne l\u2019approvvigionamento.<\/p>\n

Tuttavia, ci\u00f2 che far\u00e0 la differenza tra i governi sar\u00e0 l\u2019impegno a fornire alla loro gente una risorsa cos\u00ec vitale a un prezzo di costo.<\/p>\n

Unjust and unwarranted high electricity costs have followed the relinquishing of control of the industry by governments, particularly of prices.<\/p>\n

A common sense reflection cannot ignore the impact from the intrusion of the private sector in the production, delivery and retailing of electricity.<\/p>\n

The rorting of electricity prices is obvious and acknowledged, with descriptive terms such as price gouging and market failure.<\/p>\n

It is only because the rorting is done under the auspices of regulatory bodies that it is not theft.<\/p>\n

Consumers around the world suffer the trauma of high household electricity bills.<\/div>\n

Such has been the propaganda that expensive electricity is presented almost as a natural phenomenon over which communities and governments have no control.<\/p>\n

However, instead of overcoming the issue governments, fearing popular backlash, are responding with inadequate and inefficient subsidies.<\/p>\n

As the Federal Labor Government struggles to deal with the puzzle of high electricity bills, and a self serving prediction of a 56 per cent increase over the next two years, Australian States have offered electricity rebates to households that this financial year will total more than $1.4 billion.<\/p>\n

This very limited response ignores the cause of expensive electricity and public money to help consumers pay their bills will end up in the pockets of profiteers.<\/p>\n

Given Australia\u2019s abundance in coal and gas, electricity should have been cheaper when it was being produced by fossil fuels, and electricity from sustainable energy sources should be cheaper because the sun and wind are free.<\/p>\n

Electricity is the lifeblood of functioning communities and governments, whatever their ideology, will have to guarantee supply.<\/p>\n

However, what will distinguish governments will be the commitment to deliver such a vital resource at cost price to its people.<\/p>\n
