Appartiene a una famiglia di tradizioni anarchiche e comuniste. Nel 1946 si iscrive alla Cgil mentre risale al 1947 la sua prima iscrizione alla Giovent\u00f9 comunista. Negli anni giovanili lavora come operaio e dagli anni 60 comincia a emigrare stagionalmente in Svizzera.<\/p>\n<p>Nel 71 diventa funzionario del Partito Comunista Italiano svolgendo la sua attivit\u00e0 in Germania, Canada, Francia e Belgio. Nella seconda meta degli anni 80 \u00e8 eletto presidente del Comites di Marsiglia.<\/p>\n<p>Nel frattempo continua anche il lavoro politico in provincia di Imperia: \u00e8 stato consigliere provinciale, consigliere comunale<br \/>\na Sanremo e sindaco di Borgomaro.
